This is a part that wears. It can wear out more quickly if contaminated fuel has been pulled through the system. When replacing this part, drain the fuel tank, and rinse in clean diesel (not water as this is a contaminant.) We also suggest you replace the Fuel Tank Filter and the Fuel Filter (if fitted) as the old ones could re-contaminate your Injector. If you buy a Service Kit these filters are much less expensive.
