This replacement grade "A" Carb comes as a complete assembly (includes stepper motor, bowl, drain pipes etc) and is already set-up ready to replace your old carb. Designed to give a tight fit and provide stable performance. Built with aluminium casing for a long life.

Warning: Do not remove the plastic base when changing. Just replace whole carb or settings and small parts will be lost.

**We also strongly suggest you replace the Carb Gaskets when replacing the carb. If the previous gaskets are worn or split they will not make a seal, allowing excess air into the fuel mix, resulting in difficulty to start and run your engine. A broken gasket seal can cause hours of excess work.**

Generator Guru says:

Modern fuel has ethanol added. Ethanol is a cleaning agent used to "fill out" fuel and to reduce harmful emissions. The concentration of ethanol added to fuel can damage your carb if left for any length of time. Usually leaving a slimy residue in the bottom of the carb bowl, damaging seals and clogging the workings within the carb, preventing it from mixing the air and fuel correctly.

This is also a part that wears with use, and usually is replaced after 3000-3500 hours. If you are replacing before this time, it could be because, either contaminated fuel has been used or the Generator was stored for a long period with fuel in the system and the ethanol has degraded the carb.

We also suggest you purchase a new Fuel Tank Strainer and inline Fuel Filter when replacing this product.

    Slightly different

Posted by Clive Godwin on 31st Jul 2020

Looking towards the engine.....on my OEM carburettor, the overflow outlet is on the right-hand side ( about 15mm above the inlet stub )....on this replacement carb. it's on the left-hand side ( and only about 2-3mm higher than the inlet )
Thankfully there's plenty of room within the casing so this isn't an issue.

The choke lever is shorter ( height-wise ) than the original, but still fits within the cut-out slot in the casing.

Other than that, it appears to start & run OK once fitted.

Perfect fit and function, but shorter choke lever

Posted by Stuart on 2nd Aug 2013

If like me you are buying this carb because you broke the choke lever on the original, I can assure you it's a perfect fit and works a treat, but the choke lever itself is shorter (probably to reduce the leverage that broke your last one). If you have giant sausage fingers, you might need a screw driver to flip it over, but if you have teeny fingers like an elf, no worries.
