Description

Replacement Battery Charging Rectifier with external fuse for extra protection.

Generator Guru says:

If your battery keeps dying, then this is probably the part required. This is a common problem as it is a part that wears out over time, or can blow if there is a surge in the charging system. If not replaced quickly it can damage your battery and cause your starter motor solenoid to burn out.

Quick and easy to fit, our Battery Charging Rectifiers come with a replaceable fuse, to prevent any future surges damaging your Starter Motor, Battery, and Battery Charging Rectifier.

Replacement Battery Charging CDI with external fuse for extra protection

Posted by Unknown on 19th Sep 2016

Was happy to find this rare replacement part for my residential standby generator. The external fuse is a definite plus which may prevent what happened to the original one which burned out.As a matter of fact this was discovered while working with a problem with the starter, the starter solenoid specifically.
It is the exact replacement and it works just fine......Great service.

    Does the Trick

Part works well and does the job. I must compliment Generator Guru who included 2 spare fuses of the right size and rating for free with the regulator. In fact it was due to an incorrectly sized fuse (fied in a hurry) which caused the problem to begin with. The speedy service is much appreciated also.

    Flat battery problen dealt with

Posted by Highland Dick on 31st Oct 2014

I run up my back-up generator every 2 months if it hasn't been used. Sometimes the battery was low so I recharged it.

The generator is only 3 years old so this didn't seem right so I monitored the battery voltage with a digital multimeter. There was no increase in voltage when the generator was running - not charging.

The warrantee is parts only after 1 year and I live beyond civilisation in the wilds of Scotland so there was no point in referring to the vendor.

I ordered and fitted a new rectifier/regulator (easy fit) and all is now well. Whether the generator was ever charging the battery I cannot prove but my suspician is that there is a quality control problem with this as I had already had to deal with fuel leakage.

Guru website worked well with selecting the part and this was sent promptly.

Excellent service - many thanks !
